Luxury watches brands celebrate the Year of the Horse with beautiful and collectible editions

Last night the Chinese celebrated New Year according to their calendar. The year of 2014 is protected by one of the most beautiful , wise and graceful animals ,the horse. Changing characters of the year is traditionally an occasion for the emergence of a very beautiful and collectible watches. We have chosen five of the most spectacular : horses moved on dials of these masterpieces of watchmaking in different techniques ranging from micro-mosaic to enamel miniatures.

Santos-Dumont, Cartier

On the dial new Cartier watches, Santos Dumont, the image of the white horse is lined with micro- mosaic of two types.The dial is framed by princess-cut diamonds and imprisoned along with the caliber 430 MC in a case made of white gold 18 carats.

L.U.C XP Urushi, Chopard

The dial of the collectible line L.U.C XP Urushi from Chopard is a work of the artist Kiichir0 Masumura , who is considered a national treasure of Japan . Unique secret technologies of Japanese lacquer miniature urushi and maki- e is combined in these luxury watches with the masterly work of Chopard craftsmen .The beautiful dial hides out of sight a great caliber , LUC 96.17-L. The watch is presented in pink gold .

Ateliers d’Art, Jaquet Droz

The symbol of the year adorns the dial of Jaquet Droz series of Ateliers d’Art. This is not only a tribute to the Chinese horoscope , but also to the history of the watchmaking House: its founder Pierre Jacques Droz was the first watchmaker , who was allowed to supply their products to China. This edition made in pink gold with a laconic dial, decorated with lacquer miniature depicting a pair of horses galloping.

Horse Altiplano, Piaget

Jewelry and watchmaker Piaget followed the trend. Its homage to the symbol of the year is a watch with diamond bezel, Horse Altiplano. On the dial is the enamel image of the legendary Ferghana horse,the breed of Chinese Emperors . There are variations in white and pink gold, each has only 38 copies.
